Connecting scientists and islanders

How Does the Association Work?

Working with the local community and partners

Cooperation with the local community and partners is key to the success of our projects, as it allows scientific knowledge to be applied to the real challenges of island life. By working together, we create sustainable development models that respond to the specific needs of island communities.

A five-year programme on Hvar (2023–2027)

Our five-year plan on a selected island focuses on research, education and the implementation of projects that will enhance the sustainability of the local community. Through cooperation with islanders and partners, our aim is to create development models that will improve the quality of life on the island in the long term.

Ongoing educational work on the importance of islands in the world

Ongoing educational work on the importance of islands is key to raising awareness of their unique role in the global ecosystem. Through educational programmes, we want to empower island communities and the wider public to recognise and preserve the values of island life.
